Hey everyone! Monika here.
Last month has been very difficult on all of us. When I was down there, I saw a lot of people I'd never talked to before. Like me, they were there to save those of us who had been kidnapped. And then, a man I'd never seen before helped me when I was attacked, even though he had no idea who I am. Someone I didn't know was ready to risk his life for me. That made me realize even though we don't really know much about each other, we all share something. We know we shouldn't be here, we know what dangers we face. We're in this together, and amidst the misery this bond is something we should cherish. A thread that connects us and keeps us grounded in reality.
So I've been thinking perhaps we should get to know each other better! I'm planning to host a meeting sometimes within the coming weeks. Something for all of us to gather and get to know each other better. I'm not sure on the date and location yet, I'll communicate it later. And I know it's not easy for some people to talk. Sometimes you just don't know where to start. And formal introductions can only go so far.
That's why I would like you to write a poem and bring it with you. Don't worry about the form or the content. We're not trying to be Shakespeare here. Just put down your pen on the paper and let the ink flow. Write about what your heart tells you to. And then, share this poem of yours with everyone else attending. Think of it as a way to break the ice. I've made some of my best friends by sharing my love for literature in this manner. And I've learnt a lot about friends I already had by reading what they wrote down.
We'll also have lots of things to eat and drink. Normal and delicious things, not this place's usual fare. I hope to see a lot of you at the meeting!

@kiara, text
[She's never written a poem before, so this'll be interesting.
Also just kind of checking in, hi, she's doing okay enough to text, so there's that.]

You make sure to get plenty of rest till then. I can get you stuff at home if you need anything.
[ It had been a few weeks now, but given the nature of the injuries? She didn't expect Kiara to be doing okay. And their houses aren't that far off-- Takame can bring anything over to her house if so needed.
How useful it is to have a strong husband with a nodding-disorder.]no subject
[She probably isn't resting as much as she should be, but it's still more than she's used to. So there's that.]

[ She'll ask Papyrus to ensure she gets rest if needed. She knows now that they're "together" and it's really convenient. ]

(That's it. That's the reply. He's intrigued but the idea of writing his own poem... oof.)

[ Right? ]

(In fact, he agrees. He's fond of poetry for a reason, after all.)
But the idea of sharing something you've written is well... It's pretty personal.
no subject
Exactly! It wouldn't really be a good ice breaker if it wasn't personal.
no subject
And will you be sharing your own original work too?

No, really, it sounds like a good idea and like it could be a lot of fun, too. Who knows, we might even find out we have more in common than we thought.
no subject
Yes! I'm glad you do like the idea.

At least, you enjoyed it enough to want to do the same thing here. Sounds pretty important to me.

I can only hope the meeting here will be a success!

Oh, don't worry about a thing. I have a friend who's helping me organize it all and another kind lady has also offered to help. You just worry about writing the best poem you can, alright?

When will this be again?
no subject
Expect it to be around mid-March!

I had been thinking about doing something similar. Not the poetry part, but the getting together. I've been building a cute little tiki bar at the house for having "cocktail parties". I figure since all the locals are anti-alcohol, we could have "cocktail parties" at my family's house as a way to meet up. Just a thought, if you still need a location. I've got some tropical themed invitations too. They're real cute.

We'll have to be careful with the alcohol though, I recently discovered there are real children amongst our numbers, if they attend we wouldn't want them to get anywhere near it, ahaha.

I'll start putting together the invitations. We just need to choose a day. And I guess I should let my 'husband' know.
no subject
I'll try to talk to my "husband" about it too. After having talked with you and a few others, it sounds like it'll end up being a lot more ambitious than the small meeting I had imagined, so we'll need as many hands as possible to make it a complete success!

This is starting to sound like a great time, along with being useful! I'm sure my hubby will agree for the usefulness, at least. I think he's allergic to fun.
I'll get invites together, talk to Bruce, get some girls over to help set up.
Anything else I need to do on my end? Other than keep the locals out, of course.

And please no need to worry, you are doing so much already! I'll have the other aspects of it all handled and my friend is working on her part, too.
@okuyasu
[This is his way of saying "yes." Of course he'll come for free food.]
