This is going to be a very 'How Do You Human?' post and I wanna apologize for that. Still learning the body. Still working out the kinks. Reading things up on my own time to cover what I'm missing. (Thanks for the suggestions, @a.z.fell and @crowley. Owe you guys big time.)

BUT am I misremembering my lessons on human biology and, specifically, puberty or something? Because I'm really certain that you guys don't wake up gaining several feet in height overnight, right?

That's a good way of putting it. We passed whatever test they gave us, so we've been rewarded.

Strange there wasn't one for Halloween though.

Urgh, I would have preferred getting the height back in Halloween. Just so I'm already used to this nonsense. It's going to be a hassle to figure out what to do next, clothing-wise.

And I've regained an ability of mine. It's not particularly useful to improving our situation so I haven't really mentioned it anyone yet.

but to be serious- ] An ability? Oh wow, I'm glad to hear that! That's good to hear, useful right off the bat or not. It might mean we all get a chance to get back our powers. [ thank the stars for that too. ]

I certainly hope so. That would make things a bit more fair if we're attacked again.

[Though she's not sure if that's the case given that this ability of hers isn't quite on the level it used to be.]

And forgive me for not mentioning that I have some special abilities before. I didn't want to burden people with complaints especially not when there's an ever growing pile of those already.

[Yup. That was definitely the reason why she's been a little quiet about her missing powers. No other reasons at all.]

[ totally sounds legit to him and, for the time being, daylight will accept it at face value. kiara has been a good friend so far and he doesn't have any reason to distrust her or be suspicious.

so yeah- sounds reasonable enough. ] It's alright. Given how we're all still trying to get our bearings from being here, some stuff probably gets pushed to the side.

I wonder if this means we can return to our normal then? Part of the ploy or some long con that we're not privy to yet?

[Not that he can see the face behind the text, but she's looking up and muttering an "I wonder..." to herself. Normal for some might be out of the constraints for this place to control, so she's not sure that's the case.]

I don't think there's any way to tell at this point. But I don't expect to be returned to normal while this town exists as it currently does.

True. I guess, for now, it's safe to assume that this is something sneaky or something we need to keep hush hush. We gotta be on our guard. [ which is something he'll do, for sure. it's not, like, daylight is planning to settle down here. he has a life and loved ones to get back to.

he looks down at the device for a bit, poking and prodding the machine as if he can find a secret compartment on it. urgh- ] Not gonna lie: I wish I had one of my actual abilities. It could help assuage one of my biggest worries about this thing we're using.

Could it secure these things? Or scan them for anything out of the ordinary?

[She hasn't really given much thought to anyone listening in or reading since she doesn't really care, but those would certainly be interesting powers to have.]

Used to have something that allowed me to communicate with non-sentient technology and ask them to do favours for me, basically. [ he didn't use that ability much back home but, holy heck, does he want it now. ]

How fascinating. I've dabbled here and there with software and hacking, but I don't think I can do anything like that.

[She'll just downplay her own abilities because she'll be here all day explaining how her software turned into an a magic power and then bringing up that she can hack souls with it is...not going to make her any friends.

Not that she can do that here, but she doesn't know she won't be getting that power back. And even if she did, she probably wouldn't use it.]

If that's ever restored, I'd imagine you'll be quite busy.

I am so going to smack any and all electronic devices we come across. These walkie-talkies. The television sets. The radios. Anything and everything.

If there's any universal truth that I've learned since gaining that ability, it's that people think they can put lots of stock in technology and put all sorts of things inside it.

[Short version! One of her abilities maps a person's psyche.

In her final boss mode which she's not getting back here, she uses it to hack their souls and basically eat them. Not that she's done that since her introduction in FGO, but still, fun stuff.]

Yes that's certainly true. Most people never think there would be something inside other than whatever makes it work. So some untoward person could hide something and few would discover it.

Fingers crossed that we're the few to discover it, if we're able to do that thing and if the chance pops up.

Much as I'm grumbling about my height and stuff, I am kind of frustrated that we don't have a lot of information to go on. Getting to the bottom of this would be great and the sooner, the better.
