@PARKOUR
so, uh, hypothetically if someone worked at the paper and had access to a lot of old files and i mean a LOT OF OLD FILES and was going to go dig a little deeper, what should they look for
because there's a LOT to look through. they've got piles upon piles of stuff for 1961. i'm guessing that this place has been stuck on repeat for awhile.
a lot of it seems mundane but i dunno, i gotta kinda rifle fast, you know? so, anyone got ideas? things i should look for?

Drug trafficking
Child abductions
Echo Park children
Inland Empire
Dale Harding, Twenty-four years old
It sounded important. It was inside the police office.

wait, why 24? dale harding is def older than 24, right?
most of the excess is from this year. 1961. but i can dig and see if i can find anything on that too. are all of these things related or just suggestions

It’s stranger if it’s only been 1961 here. Even at school, there’re things missing when it comes to the years.
no subject
but 1961 is the weird year. there's... like, so much. more than they can properly house. and all the stories are more or less fluff pieces.

[Not an idea of what to look into, but she'd think they'd hide that stuff better.]

there's a guy trying to run interference. it was pretty clear i wasn't really supposed to go in the records room

I would suggest checking for the names of important townspeople. The chief, the mayor. Most likely there will be a lot that's irrelevant, but those are the names I'd expect to be associated with anything interesting.

( kinda somber ideas, but, could be useful information in there. )
come to think i haven't seen much like that in the digging i've done so far. however hypocritical it is for ME to say this but uh, they're a little on the disorganized side

And if there aren't any of those, that says something too.

I've been taking what chances I can at the library too, mainly to find any evidence of where and when we really are. City planning, development, and all that. For the newspapers, you should probably focus more on the people and major events. I've seen several good suggestions along those lines already.

( because sneaking into a guarded room at his place of work is DEFINITELY careful. )
have you found anything interesting there? you don't think we're really where they say we are?

Nothing here seems obviously out of place for the time period and location. But it feels like it's missing something, like too perfect a recreation. Still, even that doesn't necessarily lead to any conclusion. It's both fascinating, and frustrating.

@lilmonix3
Big events that would help us are likely to have been erased or hidden, so the little details that don't stand out are where you have chances of finding something.
no subject
and there's a lot to dig through. i wonder if it'd be easier to go backward. this is the year that's weird, right? maybe there's some hint of why before 1961
no subject
So maybe if you go from 1960 forward, you'll stumble upon the very first loop, the one that started it all.

and i would, but uh, i'm not sure how i could manage it. the storage rooms are at the paper, and behind a guard, so bringing in someone new might set off the alarms so to speak

How about the mayor and everyone? Are they the same people every time?
no subject
what are the yearbooks like? same people over and over again?

I can always look again if you want me to check something, though.
