Please don’t try and fly out of here or go real high, if anyone else can. You’ll get really hurt no matter how many times you do it differently. I’m fine, though.

[ flying? maybe you might have seen something . . . ]

I found some things in my school before what happened last month and didn’t have time to let anyone else know.
[ there’s a brief video of a sheet of ripped notebook that could be replayed at any time, rewritten in english. with that out of the way, ] The doors are locked now but I know a way to open them. I’ll try it as soon as I finish detention.

Thank you for your time and stay safe.

( ⭐️ there’s also an open log for more action! further into the month there will be more investigation prompts for this for those interested! )

[On the night of February 28th, just before midnight, your television set turns on with a pop! Blaring static, the snowy image gradually begins to gain clarity and definition, and the harsh white noise begins to slowly — but not completely — wind down to a dull, hissing drone. Like a radio trying to tune into the right station, two familiar voices in the middle of conversation rise above the noise.]

[ in the mid-afternoon, after trying and failing to get in contact with the others and with suspicions growing by the hour, daylight finally sends out a message to the network at large: ]

It looks like people are going missing.

Two of my friends, Okuyasu and Kiara, haven't been responding to any of my messages or calls since yesterday.

I've gone around th town to see if I can get a glimpse of them and nothing. Nada. Zip. Jackshit.

Coupled with other faces not being seen around town anymore - Have you guys noticed anyone else not popping up? Or noticed your friends not responding to messages?

Let me know so we can keep a track of everyone's status.

I HOPE EVERYBODY'S EXCITED ABOUT THE LUNCHEON TOMORROW!!!!

WITH THE HHA GOING DOOR TO DOOR.
TELLING THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD ABOUT IT...
I'M SURE IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG ACTIVITY.
A MUST-SEE FEBRUARY EVENT.

DOES EVERYONE HAVE SOME GOOD, CASUALLY FORMAL ATTIRE ARRANGED???

[After getting bullied into a different outfit at the Christmas Gala, he'd rather get a sense of what everyone else is planning to wear. And, while he's at it, doubly ensure that everyone has heard of the event - and caught on to the implied importance of going.]

--ust speak into it." What? My hand?

[The voice of a young woman comes through the speakers, cut off at first and growing faint Like the person is leaning away from the speaker.]

Hello? Anyone, no this isn't working, is it? Of course not. Okay. Speak clearly into...

[oh dear]

Hello? Anyone out there? Someone can hear this, right? Hold on, maybe the knob-

[There's a rather startling amount of feedback static bursting out of the speaker for a couple seconds, along with a very distressed groan.]

Come on. You'd think it'd be easy as pushing a button, or-

[It cuts off there. Apparently, someone found the 'off' switch.]

HAPPY 1962!!!

IT'S HARD TO CALL THIS A NEW YEAR... SINCE THIS SEEMS LIKE THE PAST TO ME.

BUT DECEMBER IS OVER! AND IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT'S SUDDENLY FEBRUARY.

HOW ABOUT.

HAPPY NEW OLD YEAR!!!

[But don't be fooled - it's the start of 1961! Despite Papyrus optimistically posting this at midnight on the dot, everything from the TV countdown to physical calendars to outstanding bills says otherwise.]

Just so everybody's in the know

I got dibs on "earth alpha", "earth one", "earth prime," and "earth A"

I called it. First come first serve

( because texting it to one dude is not a visible enough declaration. carry on. )

Though it may paint me a bit of a sentimental fool, I can't be the only person here who wrote a letter to "Santa" — what I would like to know is whether anyone else received a reply...?

I was gifted a version of what I asked for, I suppose you could say, with a note attached. Almost childlike in its writing and sentiment.

Do let me know, please. I am very curious!

okay, so, the longer i'm here and the creepier this place gets, the more i feel like we need to come together and try and protect each other. maybe i'm wrong, but i don't feel like the administration or police here can help us much.

with who we're supposed to be changing all the time (that sounds crazy but i had one "family" and now i have another), and people like the elves in the christmas village being like... that, i feel like we need to know who we have and be ready just in case

i feel like a good start is knowing who we are. who we're supposed to be. so we know if something is wrong. right? okay. so me first:

i'm peter. i'm from queens. i graduated from midtown science almost a year ago. i was raised by my aunt may. i like science and skateboarding and photography. that last one isn't as alliterative, my bad. i worked as a photographer but i'm also good at repairing things, mechanical stuff.

i know this talking about yourself thing is uncomfortable. dude, it took me like an hr to think of like 4 sentences. i just think knowing we're not alone and knowing each other enough to know something might be wrong is important.

Hey, I know we're all kind of... figuring things out here still, but the holidays are coming up and there's no harm in celebrating that, right? So what are you all doing for the holidays? I did most of my decorating already, and usually my dad and I would exchange gifts on Christmas day, usually books, but...

[He's not here. Neither are her friends. The realization catches her off guard for a moment. She hadn't given a chance to sink in.

But she doesn't let it ruin her attitude.]

... Well! what are your plans? Maybe I can make some new traditions! And hey, for you kids out there - you're being good for Santa, right?
