you really think a wool sweater would have helped in that situation?

( wet wool doesn't sound that much warmer than no wool at all, but honestly he's not a wool expert. )

At the rate this keeps happening, I'm going to switch out the wool for a pair of floaties. Willing to share for those who need it.
